AMBER TechVisit - CHESCO Institute and B-TU Cottbus

On March 26, 2026, the AMBER network hosted a TechVisit to the CHESCO Institute and the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU). Twenty-four participants gained exclusive insights into one of the largest additive manufacturing machine parks in the Berlin metropolitan region, as well as into modern manufacturing and research technologies, and learned how companies and research institutions can collaborate to develop new processes and prototypes. In addition to visiting the institutes, the event also focused on free manufacturing workshops and technology transfer programs for companies.

Together, the participants experienced:

• state-of-the-art AM technologies such as DED, WAAM, and LPBF-M (laser powder bed – metal)

• powder and wire manufacturing, metal sintering, HIP, and Hirtization

• the entire process chain—from material development to quality assurance

• concrete opportunities for developing prototypes and processes

Particularly exciting:

• technology transfer funding programs for companies

• free, certified workshops on agile manufacturing, including AM, quality management, and

cybersecurity
