BrusselsBrussels: Working together for a European AM
How can Europe pool its strengths in additive manufacturing (AM)?
This question was the focus of a two-day exchange in Brussels, organized by AMBER with representatives from Berlin, the EU, and European AM clusters.
The goal: to put additive manufacturing on the European agenda—with common goals, clear synergies, and a strong voice for innovation, sustainability, and industrial resilience.
Eight highlights from the program:
• Workshop with the European Commission, MEP Hildegard Bentele, and the EDA on AM and lightweight construction potential in industry, resilience, and medicine
• Discussions on EU industrial priorities: resource efficiency, critical raw materials, energy and emission savings, resilient supply chains, and digital quality assurance
• Berlin as an example of strategic AM promotion with focus industries
• Exchange with CECIMO, Orgalim, and AM clusters from Austria and the Netherlands
• Discussions in the Directorate-General for Research and Innovation
The conclusion:
Europe needs a common AM strategy—and the willingness to work together across borders.
